| Dräger wins German Business Communication Prize for the second time running / Jury impressed by Group's outstanding and innovative concept
Lübeck/Berlin, 8 June 2004 – Drägerwerk AG, the Lübeck-based group of medical and safety technology companies, was awarded the German Prize for Business Communication (DPWK) for the second time running on 7 June in Berlin. In the city's famous Theater des Westens, around 800 guests from business, politics, academia and the media came to see the prizes being awarded in seven categories. Among the finalists, besides Dräger, were companies such as Allianz, Rodenstock, Lufthansa Cargo and addidas-salomon. In total, more than 700 firms had submitted their communication concepts for appraisal. In the category "Best innovative communication", Dräger was able this year to convince the jury, who found that the new corporate film, the hands-on corporate exhibition in Lübeck and the crowd-pulling new trade fair stands of the Dräger Medical and Dräger Safety subgroups communicate Dräger's vision – Technology for Life – in a creative and modern way.
The German Prize for Business Communication, a project initiated by the largest German College of Technology and Economics , the FHTW in Berlin, is awarded each year to companies which stand out on account of their harmonious and targeted communications concept and the outstanding way the concept is put into practice. The jury's goal is the interdisciplinary, critical and, above all, independent assessment and documentation of business communication in Germany.
Chief Communications Officer Dr Welf Böttcher, accepting the prize on behalf of the company, referred to the importance of innovative communication in times of rapid change and global market orientation: "Innovative products, innovative processes and innovative communication are essential conditions for success in business and added value on the world's markets. Everyone concerned within the company has their own part to play in achieving this. It gives me great pleasure to accept this prize, also on behalf of my colleagues in communication throughout the company."
