The Highlight in Head Protection: Dräger Safety and Schuberth Helme GmbH: Joint development of new Head Protection Systems for Fire Brigades and Occupational Safety
Dräger Safety AG & Co. KGaA (Lübeck) and Schuberth Helme GmbH (Braunschweig) agreed on a cooperation regarding the development of new integrated head protection systems for fire brigades, police and occupational safety.
”We decided to go with Schubert because we wanted to sit in the same boat with the technologically best partner”, said Prof. Dr. Albert Jugel, President and CEO of Dräger Safety. The presentation of a new helmet for fire brigades in February 2003 will be the first result of this cooperation.
”Immediately after this launch, further new developments regarding integrated head protection will follow”, said Alexander Zahn, President and CEO of Schuberth Helme GmbH.
Dräger Safety AG & Co. KGaA, a subgroup of Drägerwerk AG, is one of the leading manufacturers and service providers of Breathing Protection and Gas Detection worldwide. For more than 80 years, Schuberth Helme GmbH has developed and manufactured all sorts of head protection. Schuberth helmets are manufactured exclusively in Germany. More than 65 armed forces worldwide rely on the military helmets made in Germany.
For more than 20 years, all helmets of BMW have been developed and manufactured by Schuberth. Approx. 1.5 million helmets per year are manufactured by 400 employees. Schuberth is known worldwide for safety and innovation. Michael and Ralf Schumacher, Formula 1 drivers, wear a Schuberth high-tech helmet, which was developed especially for this application. With this helmet, the power of the world champion´s Ferrari increased by approx. 10 HP.
