| The German Prize for Business Communication, a project initiated by the largest German College of Technology and Economics , the FHTW in Berlin, with 9,000 students, was awarded this year for the third time. In 2002 the Deutsche Hewlett-Packard GmbH won the German Prize for Business Communication. Patrons of the project are the Federal Minister for Economics and Labour, Wolfgang Clement, and Berlin’s Governing Mayor, Klaus Wowereit. Using a three-stage assessment model (looking at the quality of individual measures, total approach and human touch) the jury analysed and assessed documents from recent months in the areas of internal and external public relations, company advertising and investor relations.

| It was the first time that Dräger was among the 400 nominated German companies, and was awarded first prize straight off. Dräger convinced the jury with its harmonious overall approach to communication, supported by first-class individual measures. Dräger’s vision of "Technology for Life" was put into practice in all areas of the company in a comprehensible and target-group-oriented manner.

| Executive Board Chairman Theo Dräger, accepting the prize on behalf of the company together with Head of Corporate Communications Dr Welf Böttcher, referred to the importance of effective business communication in times of rapid global, technological and structural change: "A credible and open dialogue with all target groups - customer, shareholders, opinion-formers and staff - is one of the most important conditions for success in business."
