| Lübeck, 8 October 2003 – In line with its strategy of focusing on its core
businesses (Dräger Medical, Dräger Safety), Drägerwerk AG, Lübeck, is
planning to discontinue the activities of DrägerForum GmbH as of 31
December 2003. Currently ongoing projects for the Schleswig-Holstein
healthcare initiative will be continued until the end of 2004 and brought to a
proper conclusion. In 2002, DrägerForum GmbH achieved sales of some
EUR 4 million with its 26 employees ( of whom 10 are employed on a part-time
basis ) - primarily by organizing training and continuing education
courses for staff of the Dräger Group. |

| On 8 October the works council and staff were informed by management of
the forthcoming closure of the company and the consequences thereof for
existing contracts of employment (reconciliation of interests, social
compensation plan). |
