| The award recognized Theo Dräger's achievement as a businessman who had succeeded in economically difficult times to quickly bring about a 144-percent rise in the value of the Dräger share, contrary to the general stock market trends. |

| In his speech of thanks, Theo Dräger stressed that he also regards the award as confirmation that the capital markets path taken by Dräger since 1979, when it issued preference shares, was the right one. All voting shares remain in the family's possession, either directly or indirectly. He went on to explain that the award also serves to endorse the company's strategy, the key element of which is its consistent focus on the core business fields of Dräger Medical and Dräger Safety, and the continued optimization of its globally oriented business processes. |
