Lübeck, Germany, June 15, 2007 – At today's extraordinary meeting, the Supervisory Board of Drägerwerk AG, Lübeck, appointed two new members to the Executive Board: Dr. Volker Pfahlert and Dr. Ulrich Thibaut will join the team chaired by Stefan Dräger which is to lead the Group in the future.
"Both managers have many years of international experience and have worked successfully in a related industry", commented Supervisory Board Chairman of Drägerwerk AG, Prof. Dr. Dieter Feddersen.

Dr. Volker Pfahlert, 49, studied pharmacology and began his career as a laboratory manager in the pharmaceuticals industry, switching to business consultancy firm McKinsey after a number of years, where he worked on a wide variety of projects across many industries in Germany and abroad. In 1996 he joined Roche, heading the Roche Professional Diagnostics division since 2005. Dr. Pfahlert also has a commitment at the University of Mannheim, where he regularly holds lectures on business administration.
He will join the Executive Board of Drägerwerk AG as of September 1, 2007, heading the Dräger Medical division and assuming the other functions related to this role.

Dr. Ulrich Thibaut, 47, studied pharmacology at the University of Tübingen. He gained his first international experience as a scientific advisor before joining Byk Gulden, which later became Altana Pharma, as a laboratory manager in the research and development division in 1992. After holding several cross-border positions, he was appointed to the management board of Altana Pharma AG in mid-2005, with responsibility for research and development.
Dr. Thibaut will take charge of the Executive Board’s new research and development function at Drägerwerk AG as of June 18, 2007.
