Current Courses
All courses can be run within the hospital setting, at Dräger Medical's Melbourne office or at a venue that suits.
All courses attract The Royal College of Nursing CNE points as part of their commitment to Life Long Learning programs.
1. Device Specific Workbook Training
Working with your specific Dräger Medical device, one on one with an Application Specialist guiding you through a series of workbook based interactive tasks and questions, helps to ensure effective understanding of the device and knowledge retention. Workbook courses are undertaken in 1 half day session and workbooks are available for all our anaesthetic, ventilation and monitoring equipment to assist in safe and effective use of your new Dräger Medical equipment.
2. Workbook Train the Trainer
Would you like to become an Accredited Dräger Medical Trainer for your department and teach in the most effective time and manner? Workbook Train the Trainer programs allow staff to have ownership of training and to teach the equipment correctly and efficiently.
3. Neonate Ventilation Foundation Course
This course is designed for Level 2 and 3 Nursery staff who work with the Dräger Medical Babylogs and would like to learn more about their ventilators. The course is run in 2 modules covering respiratory anatomy and physiology of the neonate, ventilation modes and application of them to the neonate, then advanced ventilation strategies of high frequency, pressure support and volume guarantee. The day incorporates break-out workshops where new skills can be learnt in a safe and effective learning environment.
4. Adult Ventilation Foundation Course
This course is designed for ICU staff who wish to broaden their knowledge of adult ventilation strategies, covering respiratory anatomy and physiology, conventional modes of ventilation through to more advanced modes. The day incorporates break-out workshops utilising the Evita ventilator where new skills can be learnt in a safe and effective learning environment.
