Chemical Protective Suit, Respiratory Protective Device Worn Outside the Suit
Chemical protective suits need to meet the highest requirements with regard to mechanical stability and resistance to flames and chemicals. Typical applications in the shipping industry include decontamination and disposal of hazardous chemicals and the cleaning of ship tanks.
In accordance with new European Union directive 2002/75/EC, chemical protective suits have been transferred to Annex A.1 of the Marine Equipment Directive MED. Ever since, new or replacement suits purchased for ships of the EU member states must meet new, tougher requirements as per EN 943-2 (2001).
One of the requirements is for all chemical protective suits to feature a gas-tight design. Suits which fully meet the requirements are given the additional marking "ET" (Emergency Teams) and only then can be given the MED wheel mark approval. The Dräger WorkMaster pro – ET gives you complete peace of mind.
If you do not require the MED wheel mark, we recommend the WorkMaster (Umex) with Germanischer Lloyd GL approval.
