Recycling Plants
Recycling plants tend to come in two types: (1) Those dealing with the solid waste stream such as glass, metal, and plastic, and (2) ones that recycle various chemicals. The main activity for the former is separation of the various components from one another such as glass from plastic and sending them down stream for further processing. The main hazard from this type of plant comes from chemical residues possibly still present. The main activity for the later is trying to recover usable chemicals from degraded or contaminated ones. Examples of this type include plants that treat used motor oil for reuse.
