Social involvement

We are very aware of our social responsibilities at Dräger. Our involvement focuses on projects in the areas of education and social issues. With financial support, donations and services, we open up new perspectives for the future of our youth and support society as a whole.

In line with our guiding principle, we aim to make life a little better everyday. Our involvement is always carried out in accordance with our business operations as well as our guiding philosophy "technology for life". Our involvement spans from supporting local schools to equipping hospitals with medical devices.

Working with the University of Miami on behalf of Haiti victims

In response to the 2010 Haiti earthquake, we donated 16 Carina home ventilators and two anesthesia machines to the University of Miami for a 300-bed field hospital at the Port-au-Prince airport. Dräger delivered the equipment at the logistics staging center in Miami within 36 hours of the request. Additionally, some of our employees have volunteered their time and clinical expertise to help operate the field hospital.

Supporting the United Way

Dräger is an active supporter of United Way of Bucks County, PA., where the US headquarters for Dräger’s medical division is located. Employees are encouraged to donate their time and talent through Days of Care projects, Big Brothers and Sisters, and a number of other community initiatives.

Equipping a hospital in the Andes

In 2008, Dräger made a wide-ranging donation of devices to a hospital in the Peruvian Andes that is completely reliant on donations. We helped those in a region where poverty abounds and medical care is inadequate by enabling the hospital’s employees to protect, support, and save lives.

Helping tsunami victims in Asia

In 2005, we provided assistance for victims of the unexpected tragedy in Southeast Asia, offering financial aid to the International Red Cross and donating devices to assist both the medical and rescue operations on the ground.

Furnishing a School Library in Germany

In January 2009, we helped secure the construction of a school library after making a donation to a Lübeck school. This financial support went towards purchasing numerous books, significantly improving future prospects for the children at the school, many of whom were relatively weak in the areas of reading and writing. Now they can discover and checkout new books on a regular basis.
