Neonatal Ventilation

Tiny, underdeveloped lungs of neonates are highly susceptible to ventilator-induced lung injury. This led Dräger to develop innovative ventilation systems specifically for neonates—as opposed to adapting adult-sized ventilation systems.

Our neonatal ventilation systems are designed to work together with accurate synchronization and continuous adaptation to provide necessary ventilator support while supporting spontaneous breathing. This protects developing lungs from the dangers of volutrauma and atelectasis. It also helps to accelerate the weaning process to active respiration.
