Let’s connect for smarter care

Shaping the ICU together

Intensive care is one of the most demanding environments in modern medicine—where every second counts, and patients depend on precise, timely decisions. Yet rising patient complexity, staff shortages, and inefficient processes put increasing pressure on clinical teams.

Digitisation and connected medical systems allow hospitals to unlock smarter workflows, reduce manual burden, and support clinicians with therapy assistance in real time. The result is more time for what truly matters—caring for patients—while creating a smarter, calmer, and more efficient ICU environment.

Smarter care in the ICU

Discover how we enable smarter intensive care through interoperability—for caregivers and patients alike.

Let’s connect for smarter care - Digital Solutions in Intensive Care

Digital solutions for the ICU

As a solution provider of interoperable products, we deliver new capabilities to streamline your clinical workflows and efficiently manage your medical equipment. Learn more about our strategy for alarm handling, remote care and connected maintenance.

Safe management of critical situations

85-95% of alarms do not require an immediate clinical intervention.3,4 Relevant clinical alarms could be missed due to alarm fatigue.

We want to support a safe management of critical situation with enhanced alarm handling opportunities and efficient workflows.

  • Reliably forward alarms from therapy devices and patient monitors to mobile devices of caregivers and a central dashboard at the nurse station in a Distributed Alarm System (DAS) with our Silent Care Package* via the Targeted Alarm Service.
  • When receiving an alarm notification via your alarm system, use the deep link and directly access contextual clinical patient information in Mobile Patient Watch Pro. This remote patient check provides decision support to prioritise workflows and evaluate the urgency of alarms.
  • Receive alarms from Infinity patient monitors and connected therapy devices at the Infinity CentralStation.

Smart and Silent ICU research project

SASICU-Logo-3-2

Imagine an ICU where unnecessary alarms are minimised, clinical decisions are guided by real-time data, and stress is reduced—for both staff and patients.

Funded by the European Union, the Smart and Silent ICU (SASICU) research project explores new intelligent ways to support clinical decision-making and alarm management in intensive care. The SASICU project brings together European clinics, research institutes and medical device manufacturers to generate synergies and develop meaningful solutions. Using the ISO/IEEE 11073 SDC standard for medical device interoperability, the project group aims to evaluate the impact of standardised, open and secure connection between medical devices and artificial intelligence.
