Industrial SCBAs
—Dräger industrial Self-Contained Breathing Apparatuses (SCBAs) are NIOSH approved respiratory protective equipment designed to safeguard workers operating in hazardous or Immediately Dangerous to Life or Health (IDLH) environments. Engineered to provide a continuous supply of clean, breathable air independent of the surrounding atmosphere, Dräger SCBAs protect workers from oxygen deficient conditions, toxic gases, smoke, and other airborne contaminants.
Dräger Industrial SCBAs are used across chemical manufacturing, advanced manufacturing such as semiconductor and battery production, utilities, food and cold storage facilities utilizing ammonia refrigeration, oil, gas and petrochemical operations, and public underground infrastructure environments. These applications routinely involve atmospheric hazards like ammonia, chlorine, H₂S, or combustible gases. Dräger SCBAs are also essential for work performed in confined spaces, where conditions can change rapidly and cannot always be fully controlled.

Dräger PAS® Colt: For short duration, and emergency escape
Combining versatility, ease of use, and a proven design trusted in industrial environments, Dräger’s PAS® Colt is one of the most dependable short duration and emergency escape units available. With the optional drop down feature, the cylinder remains secured to the waist belt but can be lowered to reduce the profile—making the PAS® Colt well suited for confined space entry.

Dräger PSS® 3000: Comfort that lasts as long as the job
The Dräger PSS® 3000 is designed for long-duration maintenance and inspection work requiring extended time on air. Its lightweight polymer composite frame and contoured, pressure mapped harness with durable, cushioned padding help reduce strain and fatigue during all day wear. The quick disconnect Lung Demand Valve (LDV) simplifies cleaning and replacement. A built in EOST whistle on the pressure gauge provides a clear low air warning, and optional Supplied Air Respirator (SAR) capability allows teams to adapt the PSS 3000 for extended duration respiratory tasks.

Dräger PAS® Lite: Durable protection for industrial compliance and rapid response
The Dräger PAS® Lite is a simple, rugged SCBA designed for industrial environments where reliability and compliance matter. Its high strength carbon composite backplate withstands impact, heat, and chemical exposure, and the integrated air supply and gauge hoses reduce snag hazards. Built with proven, low maintenance pneumatics, the PAS Lite is engineered to meet regulatory breathing protection requirements and operate dependably during industrial emergency response.

SCBA Components
—Facepieces
A facepiece is the part of a respirator that fits over the nose and mouth, and sometimes the eyes. It forms a seal against the face so the wearer can breathe in filtered or supplied air while keeping contaminants out.

FPS 7000
The Dräger FPS 7000 full facepiece has a large field of vision and is designed to reduce fogging during use. Available in three sizes for optimal fit and long-term use

Panorama Nova
Universal fit EPDM full facepiece with 180° distortion-free high-impact, anti-scratch coated PC lens

Respirator Fit Testing
Making proper mask selection is critical. When it comes to respiratory protection equipment, the wearer's health is the top priority.
Air Cylinders
The air cylinder contains compressed air or other breathable gases, such as compressed oxygen or compressed air enriched with oxygen. It is usually made of lightweight materials like carbon fiber to minimize the weight burden on the wearer.

Key Applications for Industrial SCBAs
—Industrial SCBAs (Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus) are commonly used by various professionals who work in environments where the air quality is compromised or potentially hazardous. Some of the individuals and industries that utilize industrial SCBAs include:

Chemical Industry Workers
Employees working with chemicals, including those in manufacturing plants, refineries, and chemical storage facilities, often rely on SCBAs to protect themselves from toxic gases, fumes, and vapors.

Oil and Gas Industry Workers
Workers involved in drilling, refining, maintenance, and exploration activities in the oil and gas industry may require SCBAs to ensure their safety in potentially hazardous environments such as confined spaces, wells, or during hydrocarbon releases.

Industrial Maintenance and Cleaning Crews
Workers performing maintenance, repair, or cleaning tasks in confined spaces, such as tanks, vessels, tunnels, or sewers, often wear SCBAs to guard against hazardous gases and lack of oxygen.

Industrial Fire Brigade
Various emergency response teams, including hazardous materials (hazmat) teams, search and rescue teams, and disaster response personnel, utilize SCBAs to mitigate risks associated with unknown or dangerous environments.

Confined Space Entry
Any industry or profession that involves work in confined spaces, such as storage tanks, sewers, pipelines, or tunnels, may necessitate the use of SCBAs to provide respiratory protection.
Protection From Hazards
—Industrial Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBAs) are respiratory protection devices used in industrial settings to protect workers from hazardous environments where the air is contaminated or deficient in oxygen. These devices provide a portable supply of breathable air to the wearer, allowing them to safely navigate and work in potentially dangerous conditions.
Industrial SCBAs protect against various types of hazards, including:
It is important to note that the specific features and capabilities of industrial SCBAs may vary depending on the model. Workers should receive appropriate training on the use, maintenance, and limitations of the SCBAs provided to them, and they should always follow the recommended safety procedures and guidelines.
