RoHS

For Dräger as a manufacturer, all products that we bring to market must be RoHS compliant. This means that all components and structural elements that are part of Dräger products must also comply with this regulation. Both electronic (e.g. switches, capacitors, etc.) and non-electronic (e.g. screws, signs, etc.) components are affected.

Any individual unit may consist of several components. Example: Coil former + wire + core + housing part = coil. Compliance with the Directive must be ensured for every part that goes into Dräger products.

The following is a list of substances that are restricted under the Directive and are listed in Annex II or the amending Directive:

• Lead (0.1 percent)
• Mercury (0.1 percent)
• Cadmium (0.01 percent)
• Hexavalent chromium (0.1 percent)
• Polybrominated biphenyls (PBB) (0.1 percent)
• Polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE) (0.1 percent)
• Bis(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP) (0.1 percent)
• Butyl benzyl phthalate (BBP) (0.1 percent)
• Dibutyl phthalate (DBP) (0.1 percent)
• Diisobutyl phthalate (DIBP) (0.1 percent)

The concentration values cited apply to all homogeneous materials contained in the product.

• Supply only products that are RoHS compliant (i.e. the products do not contain any of the substances listed in Annex II of the RoHS Directive in concentrations greater than those specified in Annex II (based on the homogeneous material)).
• If it is not possible to deliver RoHS-compliant products due to the specifications provided by Dräger, notify Dräger immediately.
• Ensure that only RoHS-compliant parts are included in products supplied to Dräger.
• Design and monitor your internal processes and those of your subcontractors to ensure RoHS compliance on a permanent basis.

a) If the products you supply to Dräger are RoHS-compliant, then:

Fill out the form (attachment to our letter) for RoHS conformity (Certificate) and return it to the sender of our letter within the 14-day period stated.

b) If the products that you supply to Dräger are not RoHS-compliant because they exceed the respective concentrations of the substances listed in Annex II, then:

c) If you do not have the information required to determine whether your products exceed the respective concentrations of the substances listed in Annex II,

then:

Contact your suppliers and obtain the necessary information from them.

Please confirm compliance by signing and returning the enclosed certificate to us within 14 days of receipt of this letter.
