The Dräger Positive Pressure Unit (PPU) brings a new level of safety to underground mine refuges. Fitted inside a refuge chamber, the PPU maintains positive pressure and consequently, a safe breathable atmosphere at all times during emergency operation.

PPU 3000
The PPU 3000 uses constant flow technology to protect personnel by providing positive pressure to stop the ingress of contaminants into the chamber. It dilutes and flushes out any toxic gases that build-up inside the refuge chamber.

The PPU 7000 is the most advanced variant in the range. It builds on the functionality of the PPU 5000 but incorporates a Dräger Polytron 5000 gas detector and controller.
