Breathing New life with <br>Dräger Bubble CPAP Unit

More than 80% of newborn deaths are in preterm birth complications.¹ Preterm birth complications are often due to underdevelopment organs, among which the lungs. This may lead to Respiratory Distress Syndrome (RDS).

Bubble CPAP and its proven advantage

The Bubble Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (bCPAP) was introduced in 1973 by Jen-Tien Wung, a professor of clinical anaesthesioogy in Pediatrics at Columbia University college of Physician and Surgeons. This system offers safe, efficient, and cost-effective treatment of respiratory difficulties in neonates.  The bCPAP is commonly use in NICU to help treat with baby Respiratory Distress Syndrome (RDS)¹.

• Ease of use: The water trap in the expiratory limb prevents unwanted pressure peaks due to condensation in the expiratory limb2-
• Improving clinical outcomes: The 135 degrees angle in the submersed tubing increases the amplitude of oscillations, thus providing effects similar to high frequency oscillatory ventilation for improving gas exchange and offer more efficient respiratory support compared to other method of non-invasive respiratory support.3,4
• Enhance patient experience: Heated wire Better humidification and less condensation in the tubing – This means that there’s little or no presence of water in the hose, which decreases the risk of infection and water going to baby.
