Depending on the system configuration, it can also offer protection for the head, face including eyes, and hearing.

The system consists of either an X-plore^® 8500 or 8700 powered air-purifying respirator for applications dependent on the ambient air or the X-plore^® 9300 compressed air line system for working with an independent air supply combined with a headpiece such as the X-plore^® 8000 helmet/bump cap-hood combination. Other compatible headpieces from Dräger are the X-plore^® helmets, face shield, welding visors, hoods or X-plore masks. * The components can be easily combined for a wide range of applications.

The innovative design consisting of a helmet or bump cap (both without visor) and hood is suitable for use in heavily contaminated environments or work that requires high chemical resistance. Choose between a helmet (EN 397) or a simple bump cap (EN 812), depending on your requirements.

Headpiece and breathing unit are easily and intuitively connected by a hose. The helmet and bump cap can both be individually adjusted: First, you can adjust the head harness for the perfect fit in terms of size and height; second the direction of the breathing air outlet near the forehead can be adjusted to make it even more comfortable. In addition, the padding on the forehead and head ensure maximum comfort. Both helmet and bump cap can also be combined with hearing protection. The hood can be attached to the headpiece to ensure that it does not slip while moving.

Thanks to the Tychem^® material used for the hood, the combination of bump cap or helmet and hood provides a high level of chemical resistance, which is even higher if Tychem^® 4000 with taped seams is used. The hood protects the high value head protection from becoming contaminated and reduces the cleaning process.
