The Bakirköy Dr. Sadi Konuk Hospital in Istanbul has implemented a remarkable concept in neonatology. Unstable newborns are resuscitated and ventilated right in the delivery room allowing the Istanbul hospital to reduce the mortality rate of at-risk patients who are born prematurely to 4.6 percent.
