VisConnect: A Visionary Roundtable to Connect & Improve Acute Care
—Cyber-attacks can paralyze hospitals and severely disrupt patient care. Ransomware has been the most common type of attack, mainly targeting information systems and sensitive data. Targeted attacks on medical devices, especially in acute care, can pose a direct threat to patient health. Simultaneously, the number of connected medical devices is rapidly increasing making them attractive targets. In addition, many of these connected medical devices can transfer data to the cloud, which poses additional challenges.
This year’s session will tackle two fundamental areas: the cybersecurity priorities hospitals must address and how MedTech manufacturers can collaborate to safeguard patients from health risks and data theft. Joining us will be Dražen Milković, Zoran Dobrosavljević, and Oliver Brahmstädt who will share firsthand insights including a ransomware attack on KBC Zagreb and measurements on how to protect hospital networks, patient data, and financial resources.

Medical Device Interoperability
Did you know that up to 75% of medical devices around an ICU bed that could be integrated into hospital information systems are not integrated - leading to incomplete records?

Cybersecurity in Healthcare
Cyberattacks can shut things down in any industry. Which means your organisation needs to take steps to protect your IT systems, your data, your medical devices and, most importantly, your patients.

Managing system integration
The installation of monitoring and IT solutions and maintaining a heterogeneous installed base of medical devices and their software solutions is a challenging task.
