Hospitals can now protect intensive care patients and staff from alarm fatigue with integrated solutions 

• Multi-vendor Silent Care Package based on SDC ¹ helps reduce stress 
• Patient environment that promotes healing and supports delirium prevention
• Dräger promotes an open ecosystem of interoperable solutions

A new solution using the ISO IEEE 11073 SDC standard is ready for use in intensive care units. The Silent Care Package integrates products and solutions from three manufacturers. It combines modern intensive care ventilation and monitoring systems from Dräger with continuous medication delivery using B. Brauns Spaceplus infusion pumps and Ascom’s flexible alarm monitoring system. This opens up new possibilities in patient care, including quieter and more focused workflows. Audible alarms triggered by the ventilator or infusion pumps can be redirected away from the noise-sensitive patient. Instead, they are sent via a central dashboard to a mobile device such as the Ascom Myco 4, assigned to the caregiver responsible for the patient. As a result, noise levels can be significantly reduced not only in the patient's room, but also throughout the entire ward. A calm environment is an important factor in preventing delirium among intensive care patients. Secure and reliable transmission of alarm signals and additional information can also help shorten staff walking distances.

The joint solution from Dräger, B. Braun and Ascom will be presented for the first time at booth 2.06, Hall B0 (International Congress Center, Messe München), at the ESICM  LIVES 2025 congress in Munich from October 27-29, 2025.
