Yes, all series of full face masks from Dräger are designed for use with different types and categories of respiratory filters. Choosing your filter depends on the hazards encountered and the applications. Dräger offers the proprietary X-plore Bayonet line and universal Rd40 line for use with our half masks and full face masks. Our product range includes the following filter types:

Particulate filters:
Particle filters offer protection against particulate pollutants such as dust, fumes and aerosols for different contaminant concentrations (P1, P2 or P3). Our range of bayonet filters includes cost effective pad filter solutions and odour filters that provide both particle protection and odour control.

Gas filters:
Gas filters provide protection against different categories of gases and vapours (A, B, E, K and more) and come in different filter capacities (Class 1, 2 or 3, e.g. A2).

Combination filters:
Combination filters shield the user against both particulate and gas based substances (e.g. A2B2 P3) and offer a more hollistic approach to respiratory protection.

Yes, for environments with high contaminant concentration or unknown levels and pollutants, our full-face masks can be combined with respiratory protection systems that are independent of the ambient air. Appropriate solutions for such environments include self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA), closed-circuit breathing apparatuses (CCBA) or airline solutions for maximum protection.

Engineered for efficient air circulation, our full face masks feature airflow routing that directs inhaled air along the inside of the mask's visor and the exhaled air from the inner mask to the outside the mask to prevent lens fogging. This design ensures a clear and unobstructed view for increased comfort and better situational awareness. In addition, some versions of our mask visors are available with dedicated coatings to enhance anti-fog or anti-scratch properties.

Unfortunately, it is almost impossible to ensure a proper and secure seal with facial hair. Therefore, many international health and safety regulations and Dräger as a manufacturer do not recommend the use of full face respirators for users with beards.

A powered air-purifying respirator (PAPR) combined with a loose-fitting headpiece, such as a hood or helmet, offers an excellent alternative for this user group due to its continuous flow operation.
