CBRNe Individual mission

Reconnaissance

When obtaining detailed information about the area of operation the possible presence of chemical vapors, biological aerosols or similar volatile risks can be dangerous for the team and can threaten the success of the mission.

On the ground

While you do everything to complete your tasks, we are doing everything to reduce your risk. Knowledge of the toughest operating conditions and new sources of danger means we are committed to continually providing innovative solutions for our customers. Dräger stationary and mobile gas measurement systems and respiratory equipment both meet the highest standards in terms of reliability, operation and wearing comfort, even under extreme conditions.

Breathing gas supply

Before the mission starts the airplane has to be fully charged with oxygen. With the U4000 mobile oxygen supply trolley you can easily refill the required amount of oxygen up to 60,000 l (300 bar). A fixed installed oxygen storage combined with the Dräger Oxygen Booster (DOB) removes the need for an exchange of cylinders. As this is a fixed installation, the potential contamination of the system or a failure in the connection (leakage) will be avoided. Nearly every combat plane can be connected according to STANAG 3296 to the U4000. Additional adapters can be ordered on demand.

During operation on the air base hazardous substances can occur where vehicle fueling, maintenance, and airstrip maintenance are carried out. To minimize the exposure to hazardous chemicals and to avoid health problems of personnel it is crucial to know the presence of toxic substances and their concentrations. Dräger offers a wide range of mobile gas detection equipment to measure explosive gases, hydrazine, hydrocarbon, carbon dioxide etc. In addition, it is essential to wear personal protective gear to keep workers safe.

With our innovative medical devices, we support the four “NATO Roles”, used for the organization of medical response in critical situations. NATO Role 1

NATO ROLE 1 is integral or allocated to a small unit, and includes first aid, immediate lifesaving measures, and triage. During the operation in the field the first responder team can stabilize the comrade by using ergonomic and robust emergency ventilators including carrying systems.

NATO Role 2

In NATO ROLE 2 support is provided at larger unit level and depends upon the operational requirements. Included are preparations to provide evacuation from Role 1 facilities, triage and resuscitation, treatment and holding of patients until they can be returned to duty or evacuated. In addition to that, emergency surgery and essential post-operative management might be essential. For this purpose Dräger has designed dedicated ventilators and anesthesia machines with the main focus on transportability, compact design and robustness in order to fulfill specific requirements of air medevac, field hospitals and smaller surgical centers on vessels.

NATO Roles 3 and 4

NATO role 3 includes specialist diagnostic resources, surgical and medical capabilities, preventive medicine and operational stress management teams, provided by mobile hospitals, major amphibious ships, hospital ships or at fleet hospitals.

Space saving medical devices serve challenging demands in mobile hospitals.

In NATO role 4 medical support provides definitive care of patients for whom the treatment required is longer. This level of care is usually highly specialized and normally provided within Military hospitals.
