Victim Rescue

Protecting Victims During Rescue

Efficient rescue and escape solutions

Past fire catastrophes, where people were affected, have shown that one of the main causes of serious injury or death is not the fire itself, but rather the emerging smoke. We are committed to the health and safety of both firefighters and fire victims. Find out more about the dangers of smoke, and how to prepare yourself and the person you are trying to rescue so you can both escape a house fire safely.

In North Kensington, West London, a fire broke out in the 24-storey Grenfell Tower, resulting in 72 deaths, many due to toxic fumes that trapped residents. Survivor Branislav Lukic said, "It was very difficult to survive in those conditions, another breath and it could be the last one."

Compressed Air Rescue and Fire Escape Solutions

draeger-pss-rescue-hood

Dräger Rescue Hood:

Connects to the firefighter's SCBA, providing victims with breathable air independent of the ambient air. Note that it reduces the firefighter's operational time and requires a physical connection due to the hose.

RPS 3500

Dräger Rescue Pack System RPS 3500:

Uses a separate air source, not linked to the firefighter’s SCBA, preserving the firefighter's air supply and freedom of movement. Compatible with a Dräger full face mask or Rescue Hood.

Parat 5550 Escape hood

Dräger PARAT 5550:

Allows independent movement for both firefighter and victim. Equipped with integrated gas and particle filters, it provides protection for the victim for at least 15 minutes without affecting the firefighter’s air supply. This device depends on the ambient air’s oxygen, which is generally abundant in fire situations.

Dräger UCF FireCore

Dräger UCF FireCore

The Dräger UCF FireCore hands-free thermal imaging camera gives you a permanent vision of your immediate surroundings, even under the toughest conditions. That allows you to orientate yourself more quickly and safely, while also improving your situational awareness.

Technical rescue

Technical rescue covers the majority of all fire service calls and ranges from a tree blocking a road to rescue operations after a major catastrophe such as an earthquake. The equipment that is needed to deal with these incidents is as diverse as the type of calls itself and goes beyond the needs for structural firefighting.
