Given the growing threat from biological and chemical weapons (such as industrial chemicals (TIC)), there is a need to quickly and accurately identify hazardous substances. The Dräger tube sets for chemical warfare agents are designed for the rapid and easy detection of toxic gases and vapors.

Four sets, each comprising five Dräger tubes, constitute the easy-to-use standard equipment for detecting chemical warfare agents – ensuring safe procedures. Additionally, Dräger offers robust and waterproof portable gas detectors for measuring up to 7 gases. Soldiers can be easily alerted when flammable, toxic gases and vapors such as phosgene, chlorine, hydrogen cyanide, etc., as well as volatile organic compounds (VOC), are present. The X-am® 8000 detector, for example, features a stealth mode that can alert without sound and light. The Dräger VOICE hazardous substance database provides information about hazardous substances that may arise in a dangerous situation.

In an uncertain environment, even breathing can be risky. Whether for stationary or mobile use, Dräger customizes the required system to fit the specific applications. With its high-quality CBRN protection systems, Dräger offers effective protection against hazards such as fine dust, contaminated particles, aerosols, bacteria, viruses, toxins, chemical warfare agents, and toxic industrial chemicals (TIC). The innovative filtration system works with four successive filter stages: A coarse dust separator eliminates coarse dust up to 98% and releases it directly back into the outside air. In the second stage, a pre-filter removes additional coarse dust from the air. In the third stage, special filter papers retain even the smallest particles of biological substances. The remaining gases are bound in the fourth stage with activated carbon. In addition to individual protection solutions, Dräger offers stationary and mobile gas measurement systems to measure air purity (e.g., O₂, CO, CO₂) in a non-contaminated area.

To prevent contact with biological warfare agents through inhalation or mucous membrane contact, Dräger offers the right respiratory protection solutions – ranging from filtering disposable half masks for lower exposure limits to the Dräger CDR 4500 full-face respirator and associated filters for CBRN civil protection. 

Biological warfare agents can also be transmitted through contact with blood or other bodily fluids. Depending on the infection risk, personnel must be protected from contact with biohazards.
